Amazing Jacksonville Jazz Festival Ready to Swing AND Groove!

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is all set to unleash a huge schedule of A-listers on two stages Friday through Sunday, October 1-3. PRI Productions are presenting music on two stages, one oriented toward soul and R&B — the Swingin’ Stage — and the Groovin’ Stage overloaded with great jazz.

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1

SWINGIN’ STAGE

Marcus Click and the Piano Competition Winner open Friday, followed by superstar Jeffrey Osborne and then Najee with special guests Phil Perry and Bobby Lyle.

GROOVIN’ STAGE

On the Groovin’ side, Let’s Ride Brass Band and Theo Croker ‘BLK2LIFE’ are up first. Great vibraphonist Stefon Harris & Blackout play before Grammy winner Lalah Hathaway closes night one.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2

SWINGIN’ STAGE

The amazing Sheila E. headlines this stage night w, with Party in a BoxAllana, Kandace Springs, Tia Fuller: “Diamond Cut”, and Cecile McLorin Salvant will also swing!

GROOVIN’ STAGE

Elisha “Atlas” Parris, Mark Allen Felton, and Emmaline are up before Poncho Sanchez and His Latin Jazz Band crank up the dance party, and Special EFX Allstars will feature Chieli Minucci, Gerald Veasley, Karen Briggs, Leo Tizer, and Joel Rosenblatt.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3

SWINGIN’ STAGE

Bob James joins the swingin’ action Sunday along with Melissa Case and The Baylor Project before headliner Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.

GROOVIN’ STAGE

What a great lineup! Fabulous drummer Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science, SuperBlue featuring vocalist extraordinaire Kurt Elling and guitarist extraordinaire Charlie Hunter, and finally bass master Stanley Clarke to put a string of exclamation points on an amazing weekend!
