Saul Lucio is the Technical Director of the Florida Theatre. He began working for the Florida Theatre shortly after its original renovation in 1983. He directs the theatre’s stage crew and all of the lighting, sound and other production elements of over 150 shows a year, including Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. With only a few exceptions, the Piano Competition has been held at the Florida Theatre since 1984 and for that time, Lucio has been the guiding force in its production.
Saul is a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, has served as Local 115’s President, and is currently the Business Agent. He also serves as a Delegate to the North Florida Central Labor Council of the Florida AFL/CIO. He is committed to the education of future generations of stagehands and is on the advisory committee to the Theatre and Entertainment Technology Program at Florida State College Jacksonville.
