Jacksonville Jazz Festival Adds Herbie Hancock to Phenomenal Lineup

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival has added legendary Grammy-winning, multi-instrumentalist and grand master Herbie Hancock to a growing stellar lineup that includes George Benson, Mindi Abair, David Sanchez, Christian Sands Trio, Jazzmeia Horn, and more. Scheduled to take place in downtown Jacksonville, FL May 26-29, the festival will also feature Emmet Cohen Trio, USAF Airmen Of Note, and The John Lumpkin Trio featuring Patrick Bartley, with more artists to be announced.

Begun four decades ago as Mayport and All That Jazz Festival, the event remains one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country and has showcased music greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Branford Marsalis, Buddy Guy, Harry Connick, Jr., and Mavis Staples among many others.  With the St. Johns River as a backdrop, music will take place at The Jacksonville Jazz Festival on two stages with an easily walkable footprint so fans will not miss a note.

Additionally, the fest invites fans to participate in what’s become an epic street party that features the Jazz Marketplace where artists and makers offer their original wares, cuisine and drinks. The marketplace will also showcase the Piano Competition, Jazz Jam, Sacred Jazz Brunch, and more.

While the event is free, fans can upgrade their experience for a fee with Premium Experience Packages, which are on sale now via the event’s official website. For more information, click on the links below.
