{"id":10585,"date":"2022-05-29T14:27:53","date_gmt":"2022-05-29T14:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jacksonvillejazzfest.com\/?p=10585"},"modified":"2022-08-11T14:30:28","modified_gmt":"2022-08-11T14:30:28","slug":"jacksonville-all-jazzed-up-hundreds-enjoy-music-festival-downtown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jacksonvillejazzfest.com\/_ARC\/2022\/05\/jacksonville-all-jazzed-up-hundreds-enjoy-music-festival-downtown\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville all jazzed up: Hundreds enjoy music festival downtown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 After a rough week in the news, hundreds of people flocked downtown on Saturday to enjoy the longstanding tradition of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jacksonvillejazzfest.com\/_ARC\/\">Jacksonville Jazz Festival.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">It was refreshing to see smiling faces all having a good time, and people came to the free event prepared with lawn chairs, umbrellas &#8212; and waters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">For some people, this free event couldn\u2019t have come at a better time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">\u201cSince the pandemic this is the first time we\u2019ve had a jazz festival in two years,\u201d said one attendee. \u201cI\u2019m really happy. I\u2019m glad to see the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">Tons of food truck options were available to tempt music lovers\u2019 tastebuds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">The festival runs until 11 p.m. Saturday and picks up again from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">For a full schedule of performers,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jacksonvillejazzfest.com\/_ARC\/2022-schedule\/\">click here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">The festival is having bag checks at its entry points, so be sure to<a href=\"https:\/\/jacksonvillejazzfest.com\/_ARC\/faq\/\">\u00a0check the list of prohibited items\u00a0<\/a>on the Jazz Fest website before heading out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">There are also many officers patrolling in and around the festival streets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 hLMqRF\">\u201cJacksonville is safe. We have our challenges like every city, but a weekend like this you should be excited,\u201d Sheriff Mike Williams said. \u201cWe got a lot of good events going on downtown.
